“Lauren was our doula for Beau and I can honestly say she is such a huge part of why I was able to stick through and have a completely natural birth. “I took Lauren’s birth prep course prior to my first and ended up hiring her as my doula as well. She is incredibly knowledgeable and helped me navigate my pregnancy and birth without outside pressure. She was a calm presence during my labor when doctors and nurses were making a situation sound worse than it was. It honestly would’ve been an unnecessary c-section without her and I ended up delivering as close to my birth plan as possible. It is such a common and natural reaction to only think of the needs of your child. Lauren helped me remember that I am also a patient in this situation and birth experience. Realizing that it was okay to ask for help, plan ahead for my own needs, and that I too, will need to recover after birth really helped me to better prepare for my postpartum journey as well. I cannot recommend Lauren enough if you were interested in having an advocate for yourself during your pregnancy and birth. It never hurts to have an extra set of eyes and ears that are strictly there to advocate for you as a mother.
