“Lauren was our doula for Beau and I can honestly say she is such a huge part of why I was able to stick through and have a completely natural birth. She calmed my fears and was there in one of the toughest moments of my life. The amazing part to me was her knowledge, sense of calm and steadiness through the entire thing. It brings tears to my eyes even thinking about it. If you are looking for a doula or a birthing class I HIGHLY recommend her.”
“I took Lauren’s birth prep course prior to my first and ended up hiring her as my doula as well. She is incredibly knowledgeable and helped me navigate my pregnancy and birth without outside pressure. She was a calm presence during my labor when doctors and nurses were making a situation sound worse than it was. It honestly would’ve been an unnecessary c-section without her and I ended up delivering as close to my birth plan as possible. We couldn’t imagine a birth without her support so we hired her as our doula for our second! Once again, she helped us navigate and encourage the birth I wanted when I ended up a different hospital and random doctor for a very fast labor. She’s the support system you need to prepare for birth, encourage you through labor, and a sounding board postpartum.”
It is such a common and natural reaction to only think of the needs of your child. Lauren helped me remember that I am also a patient in this situation and birth experience. Realizing that it was okay to ask for help, plan ahead for my own needs, and that I too, will need to recover after birth really helped me to better prepare for my postpartum journey as well. I cannot recommend Lauren enough if you were interested in having an advocate for yourself during your pregnancy and birth. It never hurts to have an extra set of eyes and ears that are strictly there to advocate for you as a mother.
“I’m so grateful that I had a doula like Lauren as part of my birth team. Lauren provided invaluable support to both me and my husband at the home birth of our second child. My labor was totally different the second time around (i.e. faster and more intense), and Lauren was attentive and quick to help with comfort measures to ease my back labor. Lauren is incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and personable. She is passionate about this work and does whatever it takes to make sure mothers feel supported and empowered during birth. I would absolutely recommend her as someone you can fully trust to be present at one of life’s most intimate and precious moments. I’ll always be grateful to her for helping to make our daughter’s arrival such a happy birth-day.”
“I am so glad that Lauren attended the labor and birth of our second child. Before our baby arrived, Lauren took the time to learn about our expectations and hopes for our second birth. During labor, she was a calm, consistent, and confident presence. She knew exactly what to do to help us both through all parts of labor – both the parts we expected and the parts that changed from the first to the second birth. After labor she was helpful and supportive. She always went beyond what we expected to help make us and our baby comfortable as we transitioned into a new phase of life. I would recommend her to anyone who is expecting a baby.”
